Nicola Reiersen is the Director of Operations and Administration at LADR and has been an integral member of the firm’s management team since 2007. With over seventeen years of experience, she bridges the creative and operational dimensions of the studio, ensuring projects are supported from proposal through completion with precision and care. Nicola oversees daily operations, coordinates proposals and business development, prepares cost estimates, and contributes to public facilitation, presentation production, and CAD support.
Nicola holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Victoria, where her studies deepened her understanding of historical narratives and power structures. This perspective continues to shape her commitment to socially responsive design and informs her interest in how landscapes can acknowledge layered histories, advance reconciliation, and foster spaces of healing and belonging for communities often excluded from traditional planning processes.
Her professional development reflects this focus on inclusive engagement. Nicola has completed training in public participation through IAP2 Canada and holds certification in the Fundamentals of OCAP from the First Nations Information Governance Centre. These qualifications support LADR’s work in facilitation, where she helps create dialogues that bring forward diverse perspectives and ground design outcomes in respect and collaboration.
Nicola’s contributions extend beyond management and coordination, strengthening the link between LADR’s design ethos and the communities it serves. She is passionate about advancing equitable public spaces that respond to ecological and social needs, ensuring landscapes contribute to collective resilience and shared meaning.
